Rick Fruth, Partner

Rick-Fruth
  • Graduate of The Ohio State University, summa cum laude with distinction, with a dual major in Agricultural Education and Animal Science in 1978
  • Masters of Business Administration with distinction from the University of Michigan
  • Ohio Corn Marketing Program – 9 years on Board of Directors
  • U.S. Grains Council –10 years on Board of Directors, 5 years as Officer, Chairman of the Board in 2010
  • Henry County Bank and Henry County Hospital – Board of Directors
  • Henry County Revolving Loan Fund – Advisory Committee

Rick and his wife, Jane, a Registered Nurse, have two daughters, Caitlin and Emily, and currently reside in Henry County.

Rob Rettig, Partner

Rob-Rettig
  • Graduated summa cum laude with distinction from The Ohio State University in 1984, majoring in Agricultural Economics
  • Worked in the farm credit system for 3 years before returning full-time to manage the family farm in 1987
  • Extensive experience in leadership of and membership in various local and national groups, including TEPAP and AAPEX
  • Ohio Wheat Growers Association and Ohio Corn Growers Association – Served on Board of Directors
  • Napoleon Area Schools’ Board of Education – President
  • Napoleon Church of Nazarene – Advisory Board

Rob and his wife, Brenda, have two children, Nick and Natalie, and currently reside in Henry County.

Mark Schwiebert, Partner

  • Graduated from Four County Career Center in Mechanics
  • Graduate of the Ohio State University Leadership Education and Development Program
  • Long-time owner and operator of Schwiebert Farm Drainage
  • Ohio Corn Growers Association – Three terms on the Board of Directors, elected as an officer, served as Chairman
  • Ohio Corn Marketing Program – Two terms on the Board of Directors
  • National Corn Grower Association – Two terms on the Board of Directors
  • Locally, participates in the Maumee Valley Civic Theater and Gideons International

Mark and his wife, Donna, have two children, Adam and Christa, and currently reside in Henry County.

Mark Hoorman, Production Manager, Licensed CCA

Mark-Hoorman
  • Graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Animal Science – Top 20 Senior
  • Experience working at IBP and Royster Clark – Successfully grew the business for Royster Clark and its successive company, CPS
  • Joined New Vision Farms in 2010 as the Agronomy Specialist and Procurement Director, while also fulfilling numerous other management functions
  • Ohio Small Grain Marketing Program – Board member
  • 4-H – Advisor

Mark and his wife, Andrea, have four children, Hayley, Payton, Maggie and Avery, and reside in Putnam County.

Pete Brent, Operations Manager

Pete-Brent
  • Graduate of Napoleon High School in 1990
  • Experience as former General Manager of a large retail business where he oversaw 50+ employees
  • Brings passion for Agriculture stemming from his time helping on his uncle’s farm starting at age 10
  • Joined New Vision Farms as an operator and has since grown into the Operations Manager role
  • Volunteer firefighter and EMT

Pete and his wife, Stacy, have three children, Evan, Zach, and Riley, and currently reside in Henry County.

Steve Waisner, Shop and Maintenance Manager

  • Graduate of Holgate High School in 1986
  • Worked as a mechanic in the United States Air Force, and then as a mechanic at a local John Deere dealership
  • Joined Rettig Farms as a mechanic and field operator in 2005, and is now overseeing all mechanical tasks at New Vision Farms as well as filling in as a field operator
  • Prepares equipment for operation and makes vital repairs in-field during operation

Steve and his wife, Deb, have six children, Ashley, Chris, Laura, Lyn, Tyler and Trisha, along with twelve adoring grandchildren. Steve and Deb currently reside in Henry County.

Todd Fedderke, General Field Operator and Mechanic

  • Graduate of Napoleon High School in 1989
  • Joined New Vision Farms in 2011 as a general field operator and mechanic
  • Brings a great deal of experience and humor to New Vision Farms, as Todd has worked at Automatic Feed Company, as well as numerous other mechanical operations throughout his career

Todd and his wife, Terri, a partner in the local Veterinary Clinic, have three children, Camren, Colin, and Caroline, and currently reside in Henry County.

Nick Rettig, G&A Manager and Grain Merchandiser

  • Graduated magna cum laude with Honors Research Distinction from The Ohio State University in 2014, majoring in AgriBusiness and Applied Economics – Top 20 Senior
  • Worked alongside both Dr. Carl Zulauf and Mr. Barry Ward of The Ohio State University, conducting research in the Ag sector which resulted in a number of published works and citations
  • Prior to New Vision Farms, Nick worked in a number of positions within the Ag industry through internships with AgriGold Hybrids, Huntington National Bank, and Rettig Farms Inc., as well as a full-time position as a commodity merchandiser with Archer Daniels Midland
  • Ohio State College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Science Alumni Society Board – AEDE Representative, President Elect

Tammy Vajen, Office Coordinator

  • Graduate of Holgate High School and Four County Career Center in Data Accounting/Data Processing
  • Joined New Vision Farms in 2016
  • Brings a great deal of experience as former owner operator of Carousel Cakes and Flowers and 20+ years of apartment and rental home management and maintenance
  • Actively farms with her husband, Kevin, and manages lakefront vacation rentals and home-remodeling projects
  • Serves as an Elder at her church, and currently is a student in Lay School of Religion

Tammy and her husband, Kevin, have three children, Beth, John, and Mark along with three grandchildren, Ethan, Eli, and Lottie, and currently reside in Henry County.

Garrett McClain, General Field Operator and Mechanic

  • Graduate of Wauseon High School and Four County Career Center in Welding in 2015
  • Joined New Vision Farms in 2016
  • Was an active member of FFA and Pettisville Ever-Ready 4-H club
  • Has worked for various farming operations prior to New Vision Farms, in addition to working as a mechanic at a trucking company.
  • Garrett enjoys learning all the different aspects of the farming industry, and is looking forward to growing with New Vision Farms.
  • In his free time, Garrett enjoys spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing and racing race cars.
